Silence, Please

August 6, 2018|Ida's Blog

Why do they play music everywhere you go? I mean, I’ve been shopping in a store and have to leave because the music is too distracting. And loud. I can barely hear myself think! Charlie, too.

Too Loud at the Bank

One of my errands was to go to the bank
I walked inside and my heart just sank
‘Cause once again they got the music cranked too loud
That just shouldn’t be allowed
When I’m in here I gotta concentrate
With too much noise my thinking isn’t straight
I can’t even handle a deposit slip
Man, I gotta get a grip

Too loud at the bank, now is it just me, or
Is this the way management says it oughta be?
Look at this slip, I’ve done it wrong…
All on account of some song!

This piped-in music’s gettin’ on my nerves
My business ain’t getting’ the attention it deserves
It isn’t complicated, what I gotta do
Simple as two-plus-two
I’d ask the teller, ‘cause I’m running late
For a quiet, little room where I can concentrate
But that’ll never happen, she’d think it was a prank
And just consider me a crank

Too loud at the bank and I don’t know why
They make it such a problem for the ordinary guy
I’ll grab another slip and give it one more try…
It’s just too loud at the bank

Deposit slips, I should fill ‘em out at home
Where it’s nice and quiet and I can be alone
To think it through, ‘stead of coming up blank
Like I am right now at the bank

Too loud at the bank and I don’t know why
They make it such a problem for the ordinary guy
I’ll bring a bunch of slips on home and try… ‘cause
It’s just too loud at the bank!

I hope you’re enjoying this beautiful summer!

That’s it for now. Catch you on the flip side!
