When your dog gets excited, does he sneeze? I read on the internet, it means that they’re happy. Well then, our dog Scamp must be extra happy because when we’re getting ready to take our morning walk Charlie, Scamp, and me, our little fella turns into a sneezing fool. I mean, one sneeze right after another. It’s kind of funny unless you’re running late, then it’s kind of irritating. That’s because Scamp’s not a multi-tasker. If he’s sneezing, he can’t do anything else. Especially not sit still to don his halter and leash.
Charlie was so taken with this trait, he wrote a poem about it.
Hot to Trot
Imagine you’re so hot to trot
It makes you want to sneeze alot
Great, big sneezes, to the core
That cause your head to hit the floor
That, my friends, is some excited!
Oh, our dog’s beyond delighted
When we plan to walk as three:
My wife Ida, Scamp and me
Scamp’s his name, our pint-sized pip
The wacky captain of our ship
Who makes us brave
The rain and cold
Some get odd when they get old
Imagine you’re so hot to trot
Not only do you sneeze a lot
But whinny, snort, and then bend down
And eat some dirt right off the ground!
Outside we wait and have a chat
While Ida finds a warmer hat
And after that, you’ll take control
And lead us on the Dawn Patrol
All this sneezing, what’s the story?
Hope it’s nothing respiratory
Sneeze your heart out
You old geezer
I just say, “Hail, Sneezer!”
That’s it for now. Catch you on the flip side!
