Thanks, Charlie!

March 12, 2018|Ida's Blog

I’m letting Charlie handle this week’s blog as I’m recovering from the flu. And yes, I did get the flu shot, but like a lot of things nowadays, it’s not 100%. The good news is I didn’t get as sick as I would have without the vaccine. It’s been a week and I’m starting to bounce back. Luckily, I was able to clear my schedule and do the rest and drink plenty of liquids deal. It’s about the only thing that really works with the flu. And Scamp is a good little nurse.

Here’s Charlie’s latest poem.

You Don’t Belong Indoors

There’s a stinkbug in the sink where
I would really like to shave
But to wash him down the drain
Would be to send him to his grave
I’ll scoop him up like always
Just another of my chores
Have you tried the world outside?
You don’t belong indoors

There’s a stinkbug on the wall
Behind our good friend Tommy’s chair
Gonna grab it on the sly
Before it ends up in his hair
To our dinner we did not invite
Six-legged visitors
Them who stink, I tend to think
Do not belong indoors

When she found one in the shower
Ida did exclaim
She picked it up and quickly learned
How they got their name
“Where the hell are they comin’ from?
I swear, you cannot win!
Whenever we send ‘em packin’,
Do they know the way back in?”

There’s a stinkbug on the pillow
Where she’s ‘bout to lay her head
Gonna chuck you out the window
We don’t want you in our bed
Or prowling in our closet
Snooping through our drawers
Nature’s fine, but you’re the kind
Who don’t belong indoors
With the old heave-ho, it’s out you go
You don’t belong indoors!

That’s it for now. Catch you on the flip side!
