I don’t really have anything to add to this little ditty Charlie wrote for me. Thanks, honey, you made my day!
Stick With Stuff You Do the Best
For every nest up in the trees
Each bird’s got their specialties
Same as us, down below
Some of these you prob’ly know:
I’m the one who mows the lawn
And rakes ’til every leaf is gone
But without her, doing laundry,
Boy, would I be in a quan’dry!
While she lets me hunt for mice
She keeps the whole place looking nice
Bathroom is all spic ‘n span
(Count on me to plunge the can)
Trash is not an irritation
Haul it to the transfer station
That, to me’s a pleasant chore
To her, a monumental bore
Our kitchen’s just this little nook
With only room for one to cook
The better one for that’s the missus
Me, I’m more cut out for dishes
At the stove, she’s mighty cunning
I keep all the engines running
I know where to blow the snow
She knows where the towels go
When baking pans get stuck with crudding
Guess who gets to do the scrubbing?
Me, of course, small price to pay
For what she cooked us yesterday
To all you lovebirds in your nest
My advice, you’ve prob’ly guessed:
Give those chores you hate a rest
And stick with stuff you do the best
That’s it for now. Catch you on the flip side!
